Job Description: The Master Planner is responsible for the development, updating, and maintenance of the Project Build Strategy, and for maintaining harmony with the overall shipbuilding strategy. This position will oversee the development of the Module and Zone Breakdown plan including definition of the erection sequence. This position will also be responsible for the accomplishment of the collaborative effort between Planning and Scheduling to initially convert the contract labor file from SWBS based to a Product Based, build strategy specific distribution. In addition, the translation of the contract labor hour file through to IMS activity budgeting., The Master Planner will have detailed an in-depth knowledge of work breakdown structure definitions, integrated master planning using network scheduling tools, earned value analysis and management methods (EVM). The qualified candidate will have a working knowledge of reading and interpreting production drawings and product models. In addition, a working knowledge of database systems, ERP systems and common office application including spreadsheet analysis and graphing., Qualified applicants will have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 4 years of related work experience or High School diploma plus 10 years or more of related work experience. The successful candidate will have substantial working knowledge of ERP systems and EVM. In addition, must have the ability and willingness to work in both an office and industrial environment. Knowledge of shipbuilding workflow, material flow, production process and Navy and Coast Guard performance reporting requirement preferred.
