Job Description: The purpose of this position is to support a specific production area as the representative of Production Control. The functions of this position include monitoring work requirements and schedules to include existing production constraints. The Shop Floor Planner will establish effective work sequences, ordering the required planning information and materials. This position will measure, post, and report process performance for the assigned area and help to define best practices, performance standards and improve process performance., The ability to work with all personalities and people at all levels of the company are essential along with being a team builder, having outstanding listening abilities, being self motivated, and detail orientated., Qualified applicants will have an Associate’s degree or High School Diploma or GED plus two years of related work experience. Fundamental knowledge in of workflow and production processes in shipbuilding or other similar industries. Material management practices in shipbuilding o other similar industries. In addition, basic working knowledge of ERP systems demonstrated either through work experience or valid certification, basic working knowledge of and experience with production planning practices, networking scheduling/CPM practices demonstrated either through work experience or valid certification. Applicants must be computer literate and the ability to work in both office and heavy industrial environments
