Job Description: Essential Job Functions:, Under the general supervision of the University Webmaster this position will assist in the design, building, and maintenance of the University’s website, specifically assisting in the implementation for the CommonSpot content management system. This person will also serve as a technical resource for tools and technologies used, perform troubleshooting, track and fix bugs, perform testing and provide technical support to departmental web authors, including writing of clear and concise documentation. This position may also assist with the oversight of campus student web developers., Qualifications:, Conditions of Appointment:, This is a full time, approximate 12 month Project Appointment position., This position is a project appointment and as such does not provide for the attainment of permanent status per s.ER-MRS 1.02(25), Wis. Admin. Code., Employment will require a criminal background check. A pending criminal charge or conviction will not necessarily disqualify an applicant. In compliance with the Wisconsin Fair Employment Act, the University does not discriminate on the basis of arrest or conviction record., The work hours for this position will be 7:45 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Experience Required: Proficiency with (X) HTML, CSS, JavaScript/jQuery and experience in scripting languages such as ColdFusion, ASP, ASP.NET, PHP, and SQL required, Experience integrating social media such as Flickr, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, etc. into webpages, Experience creating custom themes for WordPress, Experience developing browser and platform-neutral websites, Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills and attention to detail, Understanding of Section 508 and other accessibility issues, Knowledge of responsive web design practices, Mobile web and app development desirable, Web analytics experience desirable, Ability to work with a diverse campus community, Well qualified applicants will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field and/or a combination of education and technical experience.
