Job Description: Manitowoc Cranes, a global leader in lifting solutions, is seeking a 2nd shift Supervisor Skilled Trades for the Fabrication department. Key responsibilities of this position include: direct production operations to provide for day-to-day control of assigned department activities according to prescribed schedules, priorities, operation sequence and processing specifications. In addition, provide leadership for production employees and ensure a safe workplace environment. Reporting directly to the Superintendent, this position is based in Manitowoc, WI., Job Functions:, • Responsible for safety and housekeeping, and for proper operation of equipment., • Coordinate material flow through various stages of assigned departments and with other departments. • Maintain prescribed standards of quality and productivity., • Responsible for methods and cost of operations. • Take disciplinary or termination action in accordance with established routine standard practices and procedures. • Evaluate department work performance and take corrective action. • Train employees in assigned areas, and provide schedules for leaders. • Monitor project progress, maintain schedule requirements. • Safety - Maintain departmental housekeeping and 5S standards, perform job functions in a safe manner, wear all PPE required by Company Policy were required, know & follow established job specific and facility wide safety & health procedures and rules, participate in safety and health training & demonstrate competency based on training received, and bring safety and health issues, unsafe acts, and safety suggestions to managements attention or correct those you can., Preferred Qualifications:, • Knowledge of welding, heavy metal fabrication, machining, assembly, paint, and warehousing operations., • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Good computer skills including use of Microsoft Office products. Mechanical aptitude., • Motivated self-starter., • Multiple task management ability., Working Conditions:, • Manufacturing production environment., • Extended work hours. • Noisy conditions may exist. • Occasional travel by land or air.
