Job Description: This position is responsible providing technical support, guidance, and design, for top quality energy efficiency programs. This position will also document and recommend best practices for energy efficiency technologies to existing and new programs managed by our company. This individual will provide energy advice, energy analysis, and energy savings estimates for lighting, controls, heating, ventilation, refrigeration, air conditioning (HVAC), and other building systems, conduct building energy audits, recommend or specify modifications to new and existing systems and report findings. Essential Duties and Responsibilities, -Review Engineering Staff's work and provide direct feedback and guidance to best practice and industry standard for Energy Efficiency., -Participate in energy efficiency program design, proposal writing, and technical support of program staff., -Technical support for Programs including, tech review of engineering calculations and assumptions for projects and program literature., -Research changes to policy, code, and technology and recommend program changes based on the industry trends and changes., -Manage Engineering department programs and other highly technical programs., -Provide guidance for other team members., -Lead efforts to identify and provide documentation of on-site opportunities for energy efficiency in buildings under design and construction; provide follow-up as required to the customers. -Work with internal staff, business and building owners, developers, architects, engineers and contractors to provide energy efficiency advice and assistance in participating energy efficiency or energy efficiency programs. -Discuss technical elements of energy consuming equipment in a facility (lighting, HVAC, hot water systems, envelope, refrigeration, integrated design) and how it affects utility consumption and demand, to help build a business case to prioritize recommendations and how they affect savings and first cost. -Design and compile energy efficiency measure databases, and program reference manuals., -Prepare and present reports and presentations., -Analyze building utility bills to determine energy usage trends., -Ensure compliance with all quality and safety policies as well as all OSHA regulations., -Present to large and small groups, i.e. internal staff, trade shows, clients, on the benefits of our programs and how to get involved. Position Requirements, -Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university required. (Based on the position preferences may include: Mechanical, Civil, Electrical or Industrial Engineering)., -MBA or MS Engineering preferred., -5 to 10 years of engineering experience related to energy efficiency, energy modeling, facilities management, retrocomissioning, HVAC design, and/or lighting design required., -Proficient in the concepts associated with conservation programs, specifically deemed savings, engineering review of measures and projects, cost-effectiveness tests, and program design., -Experience with extracting information from a tracking system in order to manage a project/program., -Experience in building design, "green" construction and sustainable design., -Experience implementing energy efficiency programs., -Valid driver's license and reliable transportation., -Professional Engineer Certificate preferred., -Certified Energy Manager preferred. -LEED AP credentials preferred., Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities, -A strong understanding of how systems affect energy Ability to read, interpret, and analyze conservation program evaluator reports and implement necessary actions from them., -Understanding of financial management concepts and practices., -Strong customer service and communication skills, -Must be able to handle a wide work variety and work in a fast paced environment., -Must be a self-starter, organized and have an ability to prioritize workload. -Must be a detail-oriented, organized, self-starter, and have an ability to prioritize workload. -Ability to identify and resolve project application issues with customers and trade allies. -Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel and Outlook., -Strong data entry skills in entering information in tracking systems/databases., -Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with customers, clients and employees, -Ability to analyze and interpret data and solve practical problems., -Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions., -Ability to understand and apply in a building environment applied physics including thermodynamics, fluids and heat transfer theory. -Must be able to research questions of a technical nature efficiently and find new information., Travel Requirements , -50% Maximum, Target 15% on a monthly basis.
