Job Description: Company information:, Velocity Machine, Inc. currently serves customers in the following markets, Custom Designed Machines, Petroleum, Energy, Automotive, Steel Processing, Transportation, Health Care and Fitness, Printing and Packaging, and Pulp and Paper. We are looking for experienced machinists for our 2nd and weekend shift. The 2nd shift is Monday through Thursday 2:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. There is a $1.00 shift premium. The weekend hours are days 4:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday. You work 36 hours and get paid for 40 plus receive a $2.00 per hour shift premium., Benefits include medical insurance including one vision exam per year, dental, and life insurance, a matching 401k, short and long term disability, paid training, a profit sharing bonus, vacations and paid holidays., Qualifications:, • Advanced Machinists with 2 to 5 years of experience and the ability to set up, program and operate a wide variety of CNC Machining equipment including; Vertical Machining Center, Horizontal Machining Center, and lathes. Knowledge of Mazak or Mori Seiki Machining Centers is a plus. Vertical Turning Lathe experience is the primary skill we are seeking at this time., • Must possess solid blueprint reading skills, strong math skills, and in-process inspection skills., • Must understand both metric and English measurements., • Must be proficient at using micrometers, dial calipers, height gage, shop gages, depth gages and dial indicators to indicate parts and verify dimensions of a work piece., • Understand tooling and offsets., • Read and interpret basic G-code programs., • Must be able to maintain tolerance and finishes to engineering and manufacturing specifications., • A technical degree or a minimum of 2 years CNC Machining and programming is strongly preferred. A high school degree or equivalency is required., • Must be able to edit programs and offsets, as well as work and problem solve independently using precision gages., • Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 75 lbs. Hoists are provided. • Ability to drive a forklift truck., Duties:, • Includes fixture placement and alignment, loading programs, tool setting, making needed adjustments to programs and offsets to ensure finished parts meet specifications. • Perform in process checks to make certain that the parts run efficiently and accurately before approving production., • Studies manufacturing orders and organizes materials and tools for next run during automatic controlled cycles to shorten changeover time., • Learn quickly and bring a “can do” professional attitude to work every day., • Fills out program folders with required information. Notes other information related to job problems and performance., • Works with appropriate personnel in production control, engineering, inspection, supervisors and other employees to resolve job related problems such as tooling, fixtures, chucking, program and blueprint specifications., • Removes burrs, sharp edges and clean parts., • Stamps identifying numbers on parts as instructed., • Study program, blueprints, manufacturing drawings, tool sheets and manufacturing orders to verify they are correct and fill out proper paper work when changes are necessary., • Package finished goods and maintain a clean work area., • Follow company rules and safety policies., • Bring forth process improvements to enhance Lean Processes., • Assist other employees as needed.
