Job Description: St. Norbert College, a Catholic, liberal arts institution in the Norbertine tradition, is pleased to seek candidates for the Men’s Initiative Coordinator position. This is a live-in position and will work ten months out of the year (off in June and July). Meal stipend and apartment included. The Men’s Initiative at St. Norbert College is a forum for dialogue, reflection, and activism for students who share a commitment to issues involving men. Programming directed toward all men will focus on a diversity of issues pertinent to students, resulting in the promotion of non-oppressive attitudes and behaviors and the advancement of gender equality., The Men’s Initiative Coordinator will supervise student staff members, and will work collaboratively to address issues of concern for men in a variety of settings. It is expected that the Men’s Initiative coordinator can work effectively in individual meetings with students, advising small groups, and developing and presenting effective programs to audiences of all sizes., The objectives of the Men’s Initiative program are to:, •Provide a comfortable setting where men can examine the societal images, messages, and masculinities that effect their lives and communities., •Focus on diverse issues involving men in order to allow students to reflect about their ‘Self’ in relation to ‘Others’ so as to help foster a community rooted in non-oppressive attitudes and behaviors., •Explore the unique connection between mind, body and spirit., •Educate the community about health and wellness so as to foster the creation of lifelong healthy relationships and lifestyles., •Encourage networking among St. Norbert faculty, staff and students, and mentoring between professionals and students of St. Norbert College and the surrounding community., The Men’s Initiative Coordinator will be responsible for:, •Program development, implementation, and assessment, •Advising of student organizations and individual students, •Research, development, and procurement of grant funding to support program initiatives, •Management of Gries Hall apartments, For additional information on the Men’s Initiative at SNC visit: www.snc.edu…., St. Norbert College, a thriving Catholic, liberal arts college rooted in the Norbertine tradition, welcomes applications from members of all faith traditions and backgrounds.
