Job Description: Program Operations: * Oversee and coordinate the daily operations of recreation programming services including policy development, equipment procurement and equipment maintenance. * Develop, coordinate, schedule and manage comprehensive intramural leagues and tournaments, informal recreation opportunities, climbing tower and aquatics facility schedules, programs and events. * Develop, update and revise policy handbooks/manuals for program areas. Supervisory: *Recruit, hire, train, schedule, supervise and evaluate student staff for intramurals (supervisors, officials, trainers, and scorekeepers), climbing tower and lifeguards. * Develop, update and revise training manuals. * Develop and conduct officials clinics teaching proper mechanics based on National Federation and WIAA sport rules. * Oversee and maintain climbing tower staff and lifeguard certifications. * Manage HRS system and coordinate bi-weekly student payroll processing for staff. * Monitor peer mentor training. Outreach/Marketing: * Market programs and collaborate with other Kress Events Center staff to establish and coordinate campus-wide outreach events and program promotions. * Participate and present in appropriate campus promotional events. * Assist in overseeing the development, maintenance and management of the Kress Events Center web-site including departmental online registration, facility and league schedules, league scores and standings, as well as other program areas information and activities. Administrative: * Enforce policies, procedures, and participant eligibility. * Scheduling and entry of all recreation based programming activities into Enterprise EMS (Event Management Systems) scheduling software. * Maintain all pool safety equipment to ensure state and local regulations are met. * Coordinate, conduct and document inspections and evaluation of the climbing tower for all structures, hardware and ropes to conform to the standards of the Association of Challenge Course Technology. * Establish risk management and emergency action protocols for program opportunities., Please go to www.uwgb.edu… to view full job posting.

Education Required: REQUIRED: * Bachelor's Degree in Recreation, Sport Management, Physical Education, Exercise Science or closely related field * Demonstrated experience in recreational sports in a campus recreation setting * Supervisory and training experience required. Proven ability in staff and program assessment and evaluation * Knowledge pertaining to and exposure to a wide variety of recreational sports * Has officiating experience in at least one of the following sports (or correlating sport): basketball, flag football, soccer, or softball * Ability to schedule facility spaces. CPR/First Aid/AED Certification * Climbing Wall Certification and Certified American Red Cross Lifeguard or ability to obtain within six months of hire * Excellent verbal and written communication skills, customer service ability and problem solving experience
Experience Required: PREFERRED: * Earned or progress towards Master's Degree in Recreation, Sports Management or closely related field * Experience working with online program management software (IMLeagues) and Enterprise EMS (Event Management Systems) or like intramural and scheduling software experience * Experience in web-site management * Prior use of social media technologies for promotion and marketing of recreational programs
