Job Description: The mission of the Professional Program in Nursing is to provide high quality, student-centered nursing education that builds on prior experience, knowledge and skills of registered nurses. Students are prepared to think critically and address complex health issues in a multicultural and evolving world. The program helps meet the needs of the nursing profession and of society to improve health and healthcare delivery. The position of Assistant Professor of Nursing will include the following responsibilities: * Teach 21 credits of undergraduate and graduate level nursing courses delivered face-to-face and online. * Perform scholarly activities consistent with rank. * Advise students, perform institutional service and contribute to the ongoing programmatic development of the department., Position is an academic year tenure-track appointment. Applicants must be considered for tenure and promotion in six years although tenure decisions may be considered at any time. Promotion from Assistant to Associate Professor is simultaneous with tenure. Excellence in teaching, sustained scholarly activity and institutional service required for retention and promotion. Official transcripts of the highest degree achieved will be required of finalist(s). A criminal conviction investigation will be conducted on the finalist(s). Education Required: REQUIRED: * Doctoral Degree in Nursing (Ph.D. DNP, or other) or doctoral degree in a related field if master's degree in nursing; will consider ABD candidates with the expectation that the degree is completed by the end of the first-year contract period * Expertise in management and leadership * Proficiency with educational technologies needed for online teaching * Strong potential for excellence in teaching and scholarship * Interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively with a diverse array of students and colleagues * Current RN licensure in Wisconsin or ability to be licensed in Wisconsin
