Job Description: The Environmental Management and Business Institute (EMBI) was established in August 2008. "The establishment of EMBI was a step in the evolution of the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay's historic mission of studying environmental issues and developing solutions to problems; solutions that recognize the critical interconnections between science, policy and business, and the social contexts within which they occur." Responsibilities of the Associate Director will include but not be limited to the following: * Active solicitation and monitoring of funding opportunities * Working with faculty members to identify applied and discipline-based research and revenue generation opportunities * Strategic planning of the Green Innovations symposium (a two-day symposium held in association with Earth Week) in concert with the EMBI Co-Directors and in association with EMBI Faculty Associates * Operational planning and management of EMBI's Green Innovations symposium * Coordinating schedules and responsibilities of EMBI employees and interns with the EMBI Co-Directors * Building a long-term set of "EMBI sustainability experience" student placements as part of a working team with the EMBI Co-Directors * Identifying faculty members to work with "EMBI sustainability experience" students * Identifying and following up on short-term "EMBI sustainability experience" opportunities for certificate student placement * Conducting bi-weekly progress meetings with individual "EMBI sustainability experience" students (or more often if needed) * Monitor budget expenditures and approving hours for student internship projects * Assisting with the creation of an EMBI Board of Directors and the participation of external EMBI Faculty Associates * Assisting with the delivery of the EMBI Colloquium Course offered each semester, Position is an 80% academic staff appointment.

Education Required: REQUIRED: * Four-year undergraduate degree in Environmental Science/Engineering, Business Management or related field * Understanding of grant proposal development and submission processes * Ability to interact with and manage people of varying interests and backgrounds * Evidence of ability to pay attention to details and meet deadlines
Experience Required: PREFERRED: * Master's degree and background in sustainability * A minimum of 3-5 years of experience with project management, as well as grant proposal development and submission processes * Prior experience working in business and academic environments
