Job Description: Position Summary: Faculty hired to teach at NWTC are hired for their expertise in the subject matter and the profession in which they will prepare our learners. An instructor is responsible for providing instruction to students within the assigned instructional department and in accordance with the vision, mission, goals, policies, and procedures of the College. The instructor is responsible for engaging students in the learning process and preparing the student to be successful.

Base Pay: SALARY: Based on a standard 180-day academic year, full-time obligation, minimum starting salary is $53,090 for a Bachelor’s degree and minimum experience. Maximum salary is $79,538 for a Doctorate’s degree and appropriate experience. Indexed salary table, (2012-2013 rates).
Education Required: • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college and two years of successful, directly related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Experience Required: • Lead the continued development and implementation of the Marine Construction and Marine Engineering Technology programs., • Must be eligible for certification under the Administrative Code of the Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS)., • Previous teaching experience with adult learners is desirable., • Ability to assist students with a variety of technical course material in an open, self-directed, instructor assisted manufacturing technology environment., INDUSTRY SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS, • Vast knowledge of shipyard terminology/orientation., • Maritime/shipbuilding industry experience with a strong working knowledge of maritime/shipbuilding engineering and construction practices and methods., • Must have knowledge and familiarity of ABS American Bureau of Rules: Steel Vessel Rules, Rules of Building and Classing Aluminum Vessels, Guide for Building and Classing High Speed Naval Craft • Must have knowledge and familiarity with IEEE Std. 45 recommended Practice for Electrical Installation shipboard., • Knowledge and familiarity of CFR-46 Code of Federal regulations, Subchapter J Electrical Engineering. • Knowledge of and familiarity with Mil-Std-2003A Dept. of Defense Standard Practice Electrical Plant Installations Standard Methods for Surface Ships and Submarines. • Experience installing, testing and start-up of ship board mechanical and electrical equipment., • Willingness to investigate, adapt, and implement new technologies as market demands change., • Ability to work in a team environment., • Willingness to investigate, adapt, and implement new technologies as market demand changes., • Ability to work non-standard hours including evenings and weekends.
