Job Description: Position Summary:, The Maintenance Technician is expected to perform emergency, routine, and preventive maintenance on all production and building equipment while maintaining safety, communicating effectively, and training employees., Primary Responsibilities:, •Perform preventive maintenance on all production and facilities equipment by means of checking, filling, or changing all lubricants, belts, and filters., •Clean light fixtures; replace and dispose of light bulbs and ballasts as needed. •Perform general building repairs such as sheet metal work, rough carpentry, painting, plumbing, air lines or hoses, etc., •Maintain various pneumatic and power hand tools. Diagnose and repair weld feeding equipment as needed., •Inspect hoists, cranes, slings, and chains as required., •Install, dismantle, and relocate machinery or equipment according to layout plans or blueprints using hoists, lift trucks, hand, and power tools., •Inspects, detects, removes, and replaces worn or defective parts of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems using hand or power tools by following blueprints, diagrams, and service manuals., •Proficient in the inspection, troubleshooting, and repairing of fork lifts, buggies, scissor lifts, skid loaders, and other power driven equipment. •Realigns and adjusts components using hand, power, or specialty tools following diagrams., •Repair broken parts or equipment using brazing, soldering, or various welding techniques., •Set up and operate metal working tools such as lathes, drill presses, grinders, or milling machines to make or repair parts., •Utilize CMMS to organize and maintain parts inventory levels, initiate work orders, and enter job data., •Snow removal and salting of walkways and parking lots throughout the winter season., •Assist with physical office and/or plant related moves in include dismantling, packaging, transfer and assembly of furniture and equipment, •Advise management of safety or non-compliance situations., •Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly., , , Secondary Responsibilities:, , •Assist with the training of other Maintenance Technicians., •Advise management on performance evaluations of Maintenance personnel., •Work with management on Safety and Lean Manufacturing implementation., •Overtime may be required. On call hours may be required. •Above listed duties are subject to be changed at any time, as deemed necessary to support the business., , Special Skills Required/Desired:, , •Must possess above average math, reading, and communication skills., •Must possess light electrical or electronic skills or knowledge., •Computer experience required., •Possess good hand/eye coordination., •Ability to plan work and determine material needs., •Possess excellent problem solving and root-cause analysis skills., •Ability to meet deadlines while working under stressful situations., , Physical Demands/Working Conditions:, , •While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to: sit, twist, squat, climb, kneel, crawl, reach above or below shoulder heights, and drive various pieces of equipment., •While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to: stand, walk, bend, push, use hand and power tools, move items up to 50 lbs., •While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to: wear safety glasses, earplugs, job specific personal protective equipment and safety shoes., •Exposed to noise, moving machinery, dirt, grease, and changing climate., (Occasionally=1-25% of the time; frequently=26-75% of the time; constantly=76-100% of the time), Qualifications:, •High School Diploma., •2-4 years of mechanical trades training, or 3-5 years maintenance experience in an industrial environment., •Journeyman card through a State Indentured Electrical or Mechanical trade. (Preferred) Those enrolled in a State Indentured Journeyman program may also be considered for the position.
