Job Description: Position Summary: Supervises, mentors and develops retail branch staff by encouraging positive behaviors, sales skills and customer relationship building. Initiates new business development opportunities and deals directly with existing customers to expand and strengthen banking relationships. Under limited supervision, monitors and reports on the progress and development of the branch., Principal Responsibilities and Duties:, 1. Oversee Daily Branch Operations, A. Handles unusual or difficult customer problems/complaints either through direct personal action or referral to the proper department., B. Maintains daily bank operations to ensure proper policies and procedures are followed., C. Oversees office image process., D. Ensures quality service in opening new accounts, balancing checkbooks and resolving customer problems., E. Implements company policy pertaining to the cashing of checks and withdrawal of funds from accounts, overseeing the proper implementation of operational procedures and ensures adherence to them., F. Processes vault cash order weekly., G. Responsible for the vault and teller limits in the branch., H. Reviews and processes non sufficient fund items for the branch. Initiates the deposit collection process for overdrawn accounts., I. Produces monthly schedule., J. Orders and balances traveler cards and stamps., 2. Manage and Administer Retail Customer Service in the Branch, A. Directs the retail banking program in the branch to ensure prompt, effective delivery of products and services to bank customers. Ensures that proper retail-related internal control procedures are in place, implemented consistently and are adjusted as necessary; provides input to other areas of bank operations to ensure that proper related control procedures are in place., B. Oversees coordination of all deposit account activity and teller operations, C. Promotes positive employee interaction, communication and productivity by effectively planning and organizing branch functions., D. Monitors the effectiveness and appropriateness of procedures in light of changing technologies and changing bank needs. Develops and implements adjustments for changes., E. Analyzes operational problems as they occur and determines solutions., F. Supervising Customer Service Associates and Retail Sales Reps to ensure adequate coverage and efficient service., G. Places order and maintains supplies for deposit documents for the branch., 3. Coaching and Development of Staff, A. Evaluates the performance of direct reports, coaching to improve performance., B. Provides quarterly coaching to all direct reports to discuss performance, areas of improvement and career development opportunities., C. Provides recommendations to Retail Market Manager for compensation, decisions, hiring and disciplinary action for direct reports., D. Assign a mentor to work with the new Customer Service Associates and Retail Sales Reps. in the branch., 4. Coordinates Service and Sales Culture Duties, A. Assists in implementation of Business Development goals and programs for the branch., B. Participates and assists in training sessions for branch and/or department., C. Collects and maintains accurate tracking records of all office personnel referrals., D. Establishes plan to achieve branch deposit, fee income and other assigned goals., 5. Branch Administration, A. Provide guidance and leadership to branch staff., B. Monitor and approve timecards and benefits for direct reports, C. Manage administrative duties for employees including all paperwork and checklists. , 6. Building Maintenance, A. Oversee branch up keep., B. Coordinate lawn and landscape care as well as snow removal., C. Oversee branch security and alarm system., D. Responsible for all branch expenses., 7. Develop and Maintain New Account Relationships, A. Assess customer needs, recommends appropriate products and services to existing and potential customers by phone or personal visits., B. Sells bank services to customers and potential customers by phone or personal visits., C. Follows up on new account relationships after 90 days., D. Makes appropriate customer referrals to all business areas of the bank., E. Attends and actively participates in team sales meeting., F. Quotes rates and answers customer inquiries., G. Opens, services and makes changes as requested to all deposit accounts. Inputs account data onto platform system., H. Places check orders for customers through internal and external vendors., I. Prepares customer direct deposit sign-ups., J. Opens and services safe deposit boxes., K. Formulates mandatory IRA customer distributions, completing required documentation for customer signature and processing IRA’s on system., L. Assists customers with imaging research., M. Processes wire requests., N. Provides notary services., 8. Assist in Teller Line, A. Performs Vertex overrides., B. Mentors teller staff and helps with balancing issues., C. Vault teller duties., D. Cashes customer checks., E. Handles savings and checking deposits, withdrawals and transfers., F. Process customer loan payments, utility payments and cash advance requests., G. Issues personal money orders, cashiers checks and travelers cards., H. Quotes values and redeems savings bonds., I. Balances and verify cash drawer., J. Wrap coin and currency., K. Assists with processing daily imaging., L. Maintains branch ATM machine., M. Identify and report potential fraudulent customer activity., N. Follow appropriate bank policies and procedures when completing transactions, placing holds when necessary., O. Orders and sells postage stamps., 9. Acts as a Receptionist, A. Answers incoming telephone calls and transfer to appropriate person., B. Greets customers, answer inquiries and direct them to the appropriate individual.
