Job Description: Our New London client is looking for a Direct Hire Sales Engineer. They currently have 32 employees and plan on adding more staff in 2012! This position is challenging and requires very little cold calling - instead it focuses primarily on dealing with customers who want equipment quoted. There are many projects going on at once so candidate must be able to handle multiple projects. There is lots of satisfaction in this position! This company makes excellent product and they have a good reputation in the market. It's very enjoyable to make relationships with their distributors and clients! This is an Inside Sales role where you will be traveling 1 week, every 3-6 months., Summary: Provides complete service to the customer before, during and after the sale. Determines the proper application of equipment, interprets customer needs; prices conveyors to be competitive, but always profitable., ESSENTIAL JOB RESULTS: Obtain all pertinent data from customer regarding application., Select proper equipment for application., Price equipment taking into account competition, customer's budget and profitability., Select appropriate drive components., Coordinate with Engineering, Production and Purchasing to ensure the finished product meets or exceeds the customer's expectations., Lead in resolving customer complaints., Resolve problems with minimal cost to both parties with customer satisfaction the ultimate goal., Share experience with other Sales personnel., Follow up on quotations and pursue leads., Identify and pursue new customers, Develop his/her territory. (Territory will be determined after 6 months. Sales Engineers may have a few regions such as Southeast, Mid-South, etc.), Travel when required., Driving a company vehicle may be required in the course of performing duties for this position., Performs various other duties and requests as assigned. These are typically projects intended to improve the sales process , Hours: First shift, Pay: $39,000-$44,000/year. This is a salaried position, without commission, and may be increased based on increased efficiency and knowledge in this role. The effective person can reach $50,000 - $55,000 in 2+ years if doing well. Experience Required: One to three years of technical or industrial Customer Service, Estimating or Applications Engineer experience. This position requires superior customer service skills and strong ability to multi-task. Our client is also open to candidates who have recently graduated with Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering degrees!, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Good mechanical capabilities; able to operate in a fast paced environment and remain calm under pressure, ability to set and meet deadlines; be a good team player and have the ability to apply common sense approaches to problem solving., Microsoft Office software experience is needed., Pre-employment exam and background check will be conducted., Candidate must have valid driver's license and good driving record.
