Job Description: The Commercial Underwriter III role is responsible for processing and making decisions on Commercial /Private Banking loan products. This position is responsible for effectively interacting with Branch personnel, Commercial / Private Banking Officers and Relationship Managers to provide information and assistance regarding the adjudication of applications. _____________________________________________________________________________ KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY A. Education Required: This position requires Credit Qualification. The incumbent must possess a Working level of Credit knowledge and skills and a Basic level of Portfolio Management knowledge and skills according to the standards established within the Credit Qualification Process Policies & Procedures. Knowledge: 1. Bachelor’s degree. Preferably in a business related field.
Experience Required: 2. 0-2 Years Previous Small Business Credit Scoring and Underwriting experience required 3. Prior Relationship Management experience is a plus. 4. Working knowledge of Commercial/Private Banking loan products. 5. Working knowledge of credit policies and procedures. 6. Working knowledge of credit scoring, portfolio management and risk management concepts. 7. Working knowledge of cash flow, credit and evaluating collateral. 8. Working knowledge of financial statements analysis and review of tax returns. 9. Knowledge of Word, Excel and Financial Statement Spreading Tools. Skills: 1. Excellent oral and written communication skills. 2. Ability to communicate effectively with Small Business Banking Officers. 3. Ability, at a working level, to make sound transactional decisions in accordance with policies and procedures. 4. Ability to make timely decisions in a fast paced, production environment. 5. Ability to take responsibility for personal performance and development.
