Job Description: This position is responsible for ensuring that all reviews and renewals of Commercial Real Estate loan products are reviewed and re-documented (if necessary) prior to becoming an administrative past due issue. Also has responsibility for interim monitoring of covenants, triggers and quarterly touches, and other conditions of credit. This position is jointly responsible with the Relationship Managers for effectively interacting with clients to enhance their relationship with the Bank. The loan size is typically greater than $5 Million and up to bank’s legal lending limit. This role is a key player on deal teams, collaborating and generating solutions to current and perspective clients within Commercial Real Estate. The role be responsible for making credit decisions in accordance with sound credit-granting principles and in compliance with Bank Policy & Procedures. This role oversees ongoing monitoring of client portfolio performance to maximize penetration and return. KEY DIMENSIONS A. Credit Assessment 30 % B. Client Performance Management 30 % C. Education Required: This position requires Credit Qualification. The incumbent must possess an In-depth level of Credit knowledge and skills and a Working level of Portfolio Management knowledge and skills in accordance with assessment standards established within the Credit Qualification Process Policies & Procedures. a) Knowledge: An undergraduate degree. Focal areas of finance, economics, or accounting preferred. CPA or MBA or equivalent experience in finance, accounting and business law.
Experience Required: 7-10 years of relevant experience (in-depth knowledge) in negotiating and structuring financial transactions. Minimum of 10 years in financial services industry experience in a corporate lending environment developing business. Formal credit training and prior lending authority. In-depth credit analysis experience/ understanding. Working knowledge of the organizational lending and portfolio management policies and objectives. Working knowledge and ability to execute Risk Management practices and strategies. b) Skills: Excellent abilities in business development and cross-selling success. Highly developed (in-depth) written and oral communication skills including the ability to write clear, concise and cogent credit correspondence. Exceptional (in-depth) analytical skills. Expertise in financial computer applications and database management tools including MS Excel. Strong proficiency in other Microsoft Office products and the Internet. Strong interpersonal skills used within a team environment and in client interaction with emphasis on excelling in relationship building. Ability to advocate persuasively (in-depth level). Ability to work under limited supervision. Ability to learn and adapt quickly. Excellent capability to independently and proactively service multiple clients and effectively manage multiple priorities. Proven abilities in leadership skills.
