The MicroInsurance Centre is seeking an office professional for the position of Office Assistant. The Office Assistant at the MicroInsurance Centre is a critical position dedicated to ensuring the efficent daily function of the office. The ideal candidate should be committed to the idea of improving the life of the world’s low-income population. Jop purpose: To provide professional assistance in the administration of the MicroInsurance Centre, LLC. The person in this position will play a key role in the back office of the company ensuring smooth and coordinated operations.

Experience Required: Key Responsibilities: The Office Assistant will have the following duties:, a. Accounts, 1. Inputs to the books of accounts for the company on Quickbooks, 2. Input to outsourced system for payroll and manage limited human resources activities 3. Completing and providing periodic reports to the president, b. Staff / Consultants, 1. Tracking and monitoring of staff and consultants, 2. Consultant contract preparation and tracking, 3. Ensuring payment of consultants, 4. Develop and manage effective communications systems for staff, consultants, and projects, c. Clients 1. Assisting in proposal development, 2. Monitoring contract outputs and due dates, 3. Regular invoicing of clients, 4. Prepare components of donor reports, d. Miscellaneous, 1. Oversee office supplies inventory, 2. Arraigning and booking travel (through a travel service) for the President and consultants when needed, 3. Maintaining contact lists, 4. Assist in posting items to the web site, Required Skills: , a. Experience using MS Office components, b. College degree or equivalent experience, c. Able to do effective and efficient internet research, d. Excellent written and oral communication skills, e. Experience with meeting deadlines while delivering services of the highest standards, Desirable Skills:, a. Experience using Quickbooks (training will be provided if not), b. Ability to speak and / or read in languages other than English, c. Experience working in an insurance related environment, d. Developing country experience e. Project management experience, Person attributes:, a. Self motivated - much of the time the Office Assistant will work unsupervised, b. Problem solver – As the President is often travelling it is necessary to solve problems without supervision c. Ability to multi-task - there are often several active projects at a time with frequent new issues to address, d. Adaptable – working in an international firm requires the ability to effectively and efficiently work with people from many different cultures and styles of operation, e. Quality oriented – quality is a key to any successful business, and providing quality outputs to clients is a core objective of the MicroInsurance Centre, f.
