Reports to the Plant Manager, Will have 4 direct reports (supervisors), Will oversee the whey department, Must have strong supervisory/management experience, Must have experience in whey processing., Great Words To Search For: Whey, Whey Production, Manager, Supervisor, Production., Relocation: Yes, ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:, * Responsible for performance of production, packaging & intake operations focusing on cost, quality, safety, & employee environment., * Develop, troubleshoot, and improve manufacturing processes & equipment with assistance from Plant Managers and support teams., * Monitor and oversee the quality of the finished product by maintaining the equipment and facility in a sanitary condition., * Work with Maintenance and Engineering to coordinate and implement capital projects and maintenance activities., * Provide leadership, direction, & guidance to production & supervisory personnel. Develop supervisors to support the plant., * Ensure customer needs are met to include product performance, quality, cost, and timely shipment of orders., * Develop a yearly budget with the Plant Manager. Monitor and control departmental costs in comparison with budgetary objectives., * Promote & enforce safety programs and policies in order to reduce employee accidents and injuries. Conduct safety training. * Promote & enforce GMP's, HACCP, quality & sanitation standards, to ensure product quality & integrity. Conduct quality training., * Trouble-shoot & lead problem solving initiatives through the facilitation of team meetings and on-the-floor leadership. Effectively change systems and procedures through continuous improvement and effective communication. * Responsible for the daily/weekly production schedules, * Complete paperwork, including production/quality records, Master Sanitation lists, schedules, accident reports and investigations., * Administer/enforce policies & procedures with assistance from HR. Coach/counsel employees in accordance with policies and procedures. * Perform all other duties as assigned., POSITION REQUIREMENTS:, * Prefer a degree in Business, Operations, Food Science, or a similar field, or equivalent experience in the cheese/dairy/drying industry., * Five (5) or more years of experience in a supervisory/management role, is preferred., * Ability to evaluate production/packaging processes and determine the most efficient method of accomplishing goals., * Ability to lead, influence and inspire people; promote quality, safety, and teamwork; and identify, define, and solve problems., * Ability to evaluate and develop employees in order to better utilize the available work force., * Ability to work flexible hours., * Strong working knowledge of computer programs (i.e. Excel, Word, etc.), * Strong time management, communication, and organizational skills. Strong customer and quality focus., Bottom line requirements we need notes on with candidate submittals:, 1. Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Food Science, or a similar., 2. 5 + years of experience in a supervisory or management role., 3. Experience in whey processing.
