Job Description: Provide accurate and timely information and advice regarding Admissions, Student Records, and Financial Aid to prospective and current students, alumni, university staff, and general public via telephone, e-mail and face-to-face interactions. Develop and maintain thorough knowledge and operational proficiency in SIS student records, advising, admissions and financial aid modules. Assist students with problem diagnosis and resolution by acquiring information, suggesting alternatives and explaining recourse for appealing decisions. Interpret rules, regulations and procedures. Answer general questions about academic programs, services, resources and business practices. Accomplish the "80/20" delivery goal (80% handled by front desk 20% referred to advisors). Education Required: REQUIRED:, * Bachelor's Degree., * Exceptional communication skills (speaking, writing, and listening)., * Strong technical skills; proficiency with MS office suite, internet research, databases, and other software., * Ability to work autonomously, make independent judgments and decisions with minimal direction., * Attentiveness to accuracy and detail-oriented., * Ability to maintain positive service attitude in fast-paced, high volume customer service setting., * Ability to work respectfully and productively with a diverse university staff and clientele., * One year experience (professional or student employment) in a direct customer service position in a higher education service office or similar customer service capacity.
Experience Required: PREFERRED:, * Master's Degree., * Working experience with an integrated data base, PeopleSoft proficiency., * Second language proficiency (Spanish or Hmong)., * Financial Aid, Admissions or Registration experience.
