Job Description: Position Title: Front Desk Clerk, Position Availability: Full Time/Part Time, Department: Front Office, Required Uniform: Black Dress slacks, non-slip black dress shoes, white collared dress shirt & *vest *to be provided by Comfort Suites, Reports To: Front Office Manager and Front Desk Supervisor, Job Summary, Must be sales-minded, checks guests in and out and makes reservations. Handles posting cash, check and credit card payments. Presents options and alternatives to guests and offers assistance in making choices. Knows the location and types of available rooms as well as the activities and services of the property., Duties and Responsibilities, 1. Check out and posts payments to guests’ accounts in a timely and proficient manner 2. Assists with the Hotel continental breakfast, 3. Takes phone reservations, changes and cancelations, 4. Offers assistance to guests needs and requests, 5. Treat each and every guest with the a genuine and positive attitude 6. Assign arrival rooms in a courteous and efficient manner to all incoming guests, 7. Checks in guests in a timely and proficient manner, 8. Pay special attention to the phone and follows basic rules of courtesy, 9. Receive and pass on information to co-workers during shift change, 10. Close out their shift and balance accordingly, 11. Perform daily duties listed on shift checklist, 12. Perform weekly duties and tasks that are assigned, 13. Must have complete knowledge of policies and procedures to me followed in an emergency situation, 14. Handles all internal control items as hotel policies and procedures dictate, Qualifications:, Must be able to work 1st and or 2nd shift *including mandatory special events and holidays, Must be able to work well with others and independently Must be able to handle stressful situations calmly, Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace, Must have a positive and courteous attitude, Requires finger dexterity, grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, hearing, visual acuity, and may on occasion have to lift and carry up to 40 pounds, Must be physically capable of performing all of the above job descriptions and qualifications
