Job Description: The primary goals of the AmeriCorps*VISTA program are: (1) to establish and/or maintain sustainable community partnerships between St. Norbert College, the Green Bay Area Public School District and other community organizations that address local poverty issues; (2) to document and create awareness of St. Norbert College’s community projects, and the poverty issues that these projects address so that the campus-community partnerships receive the resources needed to ensure their sustainability beyond the AmeriCorps*VISTA members' terms of service; and (3) provide leadership and coordination for partnerships with community organizations that address local poverty issues., The AmeriCorps*VISTA will assist in the development of activities that promote education among youth in at-risk situations, encourage education access and assistance to youth, and connect youth with the resources that will lead them to college. This position assists with three or more campus/community service events and programs and will develop, coordinate and offer training, reflection, and assessment support to all SNC volunteers working with youth in at-risk situations. One year of full time service without outside commitments, beginning summer 2012, is required., Benefits:, •Choice of Education Award ($5,550) or End-of-Year cash stipend ($1,500), •Annual Living Allowance ($10,000), •Health care, •Child care (if eligible), •Relocation allowance (if eligible), •Training and professional development on campus and statewide, •Excellent work environment, supervision and flexible work schedule, •Assistance with locating housing, Applicants must apply on-line at: my.americorps.gov…., Applications will be reviewed as received, with preference given to applications received before April 9, 2012.
