Job Description: Provides assistance with:, • Dressing and undressing, • Bathing, • Personal hygiene (shaving, dental hygiene, nail care for non-diabetics, hair and foot care), • Mobility devices (cane, walker, wheelchair, crutches) including monitoring of safe transfer and ambulation techniques, • Care of ADL devices such as eyeglasses, contact lenses, hearing aids , , Provides assistance with:, • Telephone (assists with calls, hearing and vision adaptive devices), • Housekeeping tasks as needed, • Laundry, • Escorts housing members and coordinates internal transportation needs, Medication Assistance:, • Assists with safe administration of medication, including monitoring of medication supplies and documentation, under the direction of a Registered Nurse, • Reviews medication chart prior to medication pass, • Verifies medication to housing member medication list, • Ensures positive identification of housing member prior to administering medications, • Uses correct administration containers when administering medications, • Verifies correct route of medication, • Undertakes proper hand washing prior to and after administration of each medication, • Measures liquid medications properly at eye level, • Takes and records appropriate vital signs as required, • Assures all medications are swallowed, • Documents correctly after administering medications , • Documents correctly on controlled medications, • Stores controlled medications correctly, • Is aware of measures for adverse medication reaction, , Health Maintenance and Monitoring Tasks:, •Observes and reports changes in a housing member’s physical condition and cognitive/emotional status to Building Manager as needed, • Conducts room checks and housing member rounds, • Monitors for environmental safety hazards, • Documents incidents, errors or accidents, • Documents housing member related events, Dining:, • Assists in a variety of tasks related to dining, including but not limited to: escorting housing members to dining room, set up and cleaning of tables, serving meals, bussing tables, washing dishes and set up of dining room, • Assists in establishing a calm, socially interactive dining experience while maintaining independence and safety for housing members.
