Job Description: This position reports to the Associate Provost for Information Sciences and serves as the primary administrative support person for the Information Services Administration Office and the entire Information Services Division as needed. This position manages the office by being the first point of contact, providing pertinent information regarding the division and interpreting and communicating policies and processes to students, faculty, staff and external parties. This position handles confidential correspondence and is responsible for producing a variety of documents. This position assures proper records management and retention with transition to electronic filing where feasible. This position will also be responsible for calendar management, travel arrangements and meeting logistics. Qualifications:, • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Word, Outlook, Excel, and Publisher., • Ability to type at least 55 wpm., • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously., • Ability to understand and explain complex policies, rules, and regulations., • Ability to work in a team environment., • Ability to organize work flow and adjust priorities, function under general direction and exercise judgment and independent thinking in completing required duties., • Ability to adapt readily to new technologies and be able to learn new applications independently., • Demonstrated knowledge of business English, spelling, punctuation and grammar for communications including developing business letters and templates., • Ability to learn design software such as Photoshop and InDesign or similar programs., • Ability to learn office accounting practices., • Demonstrated knowledge of best practices for office procedures, including electronic filing., Conditions of Appointment:, Employment will require a criminal background check. A pending criminal charge or conviction will not necessarily disqualify an applicant. In compliance with the Wisconsin Fair Employment Act, the University does not discriminate on the basis of arrest or conviction record. A six-month probationary period will also be required. The work hours of this position are 7:45 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
