Job Description: POSITION NUMBER: A343 START DATE: February 1, 2013 ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The position of Assistant Director - Internal Support Services will report to the Director of the University Union. As one of three Assistant Directors, this position will lead vital internal support services that assist with projects and tasks for areas within and outside the department. This position requires an individual with a strong personality and one with creativity and flexibility at the forefront. The ideal candidate will be an excellent problem solver and diligent at both daily/routine tasks as well as project management. The position of Assistant Director - Internal Support Services will include the following responsibilities: * Supervise the campus one-card system, off-campus merchant program, marketing/web/graphic services, annual budget, financial services and support needs, student employment program, student training and development, and point/meal/dining plan management. * Organize and lead department-wide staff development including planning and coordinating routine training programs and annual/semi-annual events and activities. * Enhance and explore current technology trends available in the University Union to facilitate an environment that effectively reaches the current student body. * Assist with the coordination and marketing of sustainable practices and opportunities. * Perform all duties of a professional student services advisor related to the mission and role of the college union., SPECIAL NOTES: The University Union and the many operations within are open nearly every day of the year (closed on a few holidays). The operations often open at 7am daily (or earlier) and remain open until late in the evening (11pm most days) including hours on weekends and holidays. The work hours are not confined to the traditional 8:00am-4:30pm Monday-Friday time period but remain flexible to ensure being attentive to working when the need is most appropriate. Occasional travel - both locally, within the state, and sometimes out-of-state to attend a work or trade conference - are necessary and appropriate to ensure and help with job and professional development

Education Required: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Student Personnel, or related field at time of application * Three years of experience in a college, hospitality, retail, or comparable work environment * A mentoring and development philosophy consistent with the ideals of the Role and Mission of the University Union PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Master's Degree in Business Administration, Higher Education Administration, or comparable field * Five to seven years of experience in university or college auxilliaries, student union, or comparable environment
