Job Description: The Aquatic Plant Survey Intern will assist in the implementation of the Shawano County Invasive Species Management Program. The Shawano County Land Conservation Division will be conducting a comprehensive aquatic vegetation survey on White Clay Lake in the Town of Washington. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to identifying performing bathymetry analyses, identifying all vegetation to species, and mapping vegetation distributions. All job duties must be completed for academic credit as a portion of a college degree.

Experience Required: Applicants should have a strong knowledge in aquatic plant identification, limnology principles and of aquatic invasive species prevention, control and laws. Specific coursework experience shall be demonstrated. Proficiency with ArcGIS software is required and experience using hand-held GPS is preferred. Experience in hauling, launching and operating motorboats is strongly preferred. Enthusiasm, friendliness and ability to communicate effectively are essential. Applicants must be motivated self-starters who can work independently in a variety of weather conditions.
