acsearch@uwgb.edu Job Description: The Area Coordinator assists in carrying out the mission and philosophy of Residence Life, a department providing services to over 2,200 students and 2,500 summer guests annually. -Serves on a team of five Area Coordinators, supervising a team of 63 Resident Assistants, assigned to 27 residential facilities on campus -Assists in recruiting Area Coordinators; and in hiring, training and evaluating Resident Assistant staff -Ensures a high quality of student life on campus through delivery of community development activities, educational programs, and leadership involvement opportunities for residents -Rotates on-duty 365 days per year, and responds to roommate disputes, incidents of student misconduct, student crises, and emergencies -Ensures a residential community conducive to sleeping, academic study, responsibility and accountability, personal development, and safety -Advises individual students, student leadership groups, student conference delegations, and peer conduct review boards -Coordinates administrative activities and services with the Business Operations and Facilities Management areas of Residence Life -Assists with summer camp and conference operations and services -Serves on appropriate committees as requested -Assumes other duties as assigned by the Director and Associate/Assistant Directors Please go to

Education Required: Required: -Bachelors Degree and two years full-time experience in Residence Life beyond the undergraduate level – or –, -Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration or related field AND, graduate level housing experience -Knowledge in student development theory, issues and trends -Experience in staff supervision, student advising, community development, educational programming, and student leadership development -Solid oral and written communication skills, administrative and organizational abilities, and computer proficiency -Interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively with a diverse array of students and colleagues
