CIOSearch@uwgb.edu Job Description: The Associate Provost for Information Services and Chief Information Officer (CIO) reports to the Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. This position has overall responsibility for the Information Services Division with 50 full time professional, 75 student employees and a $5 million operating budget. The Associate Provost provides vision and leadership in planning, delivery and integration of information technology and library services at UW-Green Bay and works collaboratively with campus constituents in setting priorities for the deployment of information technology to carry out the teaching, research, service and administrative goals of the university. Areas of responsibility include the library, academic technology services, help desk, computer labs, classroom technology, enterprise applications and servers, network and telecom infrastructure, audio-visual services, web technology services and other event-related technology support. Other responsibilities include chairing the UW-Green Bay Information Technology Council, serving as a member of the Provost’s Administrative Council and the University of Wisconsin System CIO Council, and, representing the University's information technology interests at the regional, state and national level., -Management of the Information Services Division with 50 full time professional and 75 student employees. -Provide leadership and oversight of: -high quality research and information services that meet the curricular and scholarly needs of the faculty, students and staff; -educational services and information literacy programs to ensure the campus community is able to use technology effectively; and -enterprise technology systems as identified in the UWGB Technology Plan, such as portfolio management, project charters and project reviews to ensure success in meeting the campus technology needs in the most cost effective manner. -Provide leadership on the use of emerging technologies, advising institutional leaders of advancements that may affect the campus, and providing user support for the adoption of new technologies. -Oversee audit and security protocols and enforce compliance with IT security and policy. -Oversee Information Technology budgeting, strategic planning and deployment of enterprise IT systems. -Build relationships with institutional constituents and lead the development and implementation of campus-wide IT strategies that are aligned with the University's mission and strategic goals. -Foster a culture of commitment to quality customer service and best business practices. -Champion effective IT governance structures and ensure that IT policies are in place. -Work with the UW System CIO Council on common policy and planning concerns as well as the acquisition and effective deployment of common systems and consortium procurements. -Represent UW-Green Bay on State of Wisconsin committees and at professional organization meetings concerning information technology. Education Required: -An earned Master’s degree. -Successful senior-level experience as an information technology leader. -Evidence of strong budget and financial management skills including strategic budgeting, resource allocation and the creation or enhancement of revenue streams to support organizational initiatives. -A demonstrated record of leadership in technology planning and delivery of quality services. -Experience supervising diverse personnel and oversight of large-scale IT projects. -Evidence of being adept at collaboration and negotiation with others to accomplish goals. -Evidence of strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. -Evidence of sensitivity to, and respect for the diverse academic, socio-economic, ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds, disability, and sexual orientation of students and staff.
Experience Required: -An earned doctorate. -Three years of progressively increasing supervisory experience in an IT related field. -Experience in an academic setting of comparable complexity.
