jobs@uwgb.edu Job Description: The IS Technical Services Senior is responsible for providing support for users of computer technology and the campus-wide network. This position configures, administers, and supports the campus Macintosh workstations, including maintaining the operating system software, implementing computer applications, troubleshooting hardware and software problems, and providing necessary documentation. In addition, this position will oversee the operation of the Housing IT Service Center, which provides technical support to students in Residence Life who bring their personal computers to campus. Additional responsibilities include assisting in staffing the CIT help desk to offer quality assistance, education, and training to all campus users as well as supporting the computer repair operations. This position would serve as a technician at the CIT help desk, working in the field to solve user problems and conduct on-site training as needed.

Base Pay: The salary for this position will be between $45,990 and $55,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. This position is in pay schedule and range 07-03 and is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

Experience Required: Qualifications:, - Knowledge of the Macintosh computer and OS X operating systems, including the ability to troubleshoot system, networking, and application problems., - Knowledge of Windows 7 operating system, including the ability to troubleshoot system problems, application problems, virus remediation, and networking problems., - Knowledge of software used to interface Macintosh with Windows networking environment. Experience with ADmitMac preferred., - Experience working with Windows Active Directory and Macintosh Open Directory, including configuring the integration of the two for user and workstation management., - Experience working at a help desk and providing second-level support in the field. Experience in the educational setting preferred., - Ability to provide training to users of varying technical backgrounds., - Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Internet applications., - Ability to resolve Adobe CS, QuarkXPress, and other graphics applications problems., - Ability to supervise, mentor and train student employees., - Excellent writing skills. Ability to produce comprehensible instructions and documentation for users with varying technical backgrounds., - Effective communication and interpersonal skills., - Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Crouching and bending underneath desks may be required.
